Dear Meseret: Amidst misunderstandings and conflicts that sometimes ended in inflicting deep wounds and evoking emotional affliction amongst us, you and your athletic compatriot friends didn’t fail to present us with the most joyous and ecstatic moments in our lives. Ethiopia sprints with you and enjoys the spirit of winning whenever you finish first at the end of the game. Then we cry and hug each other, thereby forgetting those evil things in our national lives. It is simply impossible to thank you enough for your priceless contribution to our national pride and psychological and spiritual healings.
