UEFA Super Cup 2008

Thousands of football-loving Russians and Brits descended on the principality on August 29 for the 2008 UEFA Super Cup.

They filled Stade Louis II to witness the world's most popular football club, Manchester United F.C., come up against the formidable FC Zenit St. Petersburg.

In the end, No. 10 Wayne Rooney and his Manchester mates could not get the better of the lads in blue, who, with one goal in each half, made sure they would take the 12.2kg sliver chalice back to Russia.
